Food For Thought - Denver provides PowerSacks of non-perishable food for students at Columbian and Fairview Elementary Schools. Each PowerSacks is designed to feed a family of four for the weekend, helping to bridge the weekend hunger gap that many of Denver's low income students face each week. Often these students do not have access to nutritious meals outside of the ones they receive at school during the week. We are a 100% volunteer organization and every penny we raise is used to buy food for the program from the Food Bank of the Rockies. We are committed to keeping our overhead expenses at 0! Each PowerSack costs Food For Thought $4 so a $20 donation will provide PowerSacks to one student every Friday for a month. $128 will provide a PowerSack for one child every week for the school year!
The workout will take place at Stapleton Central Park at 8 am Saturday morning and will run approximately one hour.
Everyone and all abilities are welcome. You do not need to register in advance, and we hope you bring your friends.
